Family Constellations with Horses

"Although I was not very familiar with the family constellations approach in therapy before attending this workshop, I was completely convinced by the end that it is a powerful tool for self exploration, and for healing relationships both with others and self. Including animals and nature into this experience helped participants go deeper in a way we otherwise may not have been able to. For anyone who may be considering registering for Family Constellations with Horses but feels reluctant, I strongly encourage you to reach out to Kim and Chelsea! Both have a calming presence, beautiful energy and deep wisdom that is quickly felt in such a gorgeous farm setting."

Family Constellations with Horses

Saturday, March 2, 2024

9:30am until 12:30pm

The Unbridled Farm, Ravenel, SC

$70/participant | Pre-registration required

Chelsea Green (Anu Beginning Therapy) will introduce family constellations theory and practice, then guide a brief mindfulness meditation to get grounded & connected to our bodies. She will then co-facilitate family constellations for the participants and horses who volunteer to take more active roles.

Kim Hallin (Unbridled LLC) will help participants deepen their awareness of horse herd dynamics and observe the ways horses communicate with humans and one another. Kim is intimately familiar with the horses (and other animals) who make up the Unbridled herd and she excels at gently guiding human participants to "see", understand and reflect on the horses' valuable contributions.

No previous experience with horses or family constellations is required. Additional information, including the farm address, will be sent once your registration is complete.

What are Family Constellations?

During a family constellation group workshop, one person may request to explore a dynamic within themselves or their family with the help of the group.
Once the facilitator has gathered enough information to begin, the volunteer client is invited to choose representatives from the group for the family members or factors that are relevant to the situation. This sometimes looks like the client asking another participant if they would be willing to stand in and represent different members of their family system.

What begins to develop is an external representation of the client's family or other system. From here, what was previously an internal image begins to draw out insights for the client, and the group as a whole.

As the constellation progresses, new insights and information may emerge as the facilitator guides the representatives to explore different areas of the client's system. These sessions typically come to a resolution by finding the image or shape that restores order, a sense of safety, love, strength, or gratitude within the client and other group members is common.

Why Include Horses?

Involving horses in family constellation workshops (yes, they can volunteer to represent family members!) provides next-level insights and healing opportunities. In fact, the horses have shown us they really enjoy the opportunity to showcase their intuitive abilities in this way.
